I am disappointed that the link to our house in Costa Rica doesn't work on the IPad. It would have been really neat to have it mobile. Starting to pack for our visit to Costa Rica. I am curious to see how the house looks after being empty for so long. I am not going to miss this cold weather. Michelle and I have been doing a lot of paper crafting. Her talent is amazing I love watching her create her projects. I finally delivered the stocking caps for the homeless to Joyce yesterday. One more thing off my list. Now to decide if I am taking yarn to CR or not. I think I might do some needlepoint instead. Went to Family Arts and got the the thread for a new project. Another quilt design rather than picture design. Retirement sure gives a person time to do the things we enjoy but it is easy to nothing. Seems I did more when I worked than now. Well Dear readers I must get off my duff and do something productive. Will post again soon.

Just checking in

Shrimp Boat Adventure

John came up with the idea of going out on one of the shrimp boats that we see from the patio. Well, it was a lot easier to set up than either one of us thought. Early this morning John met a ponga boat on the beach and was driven to the "Lady Natalia". He had a wonderful time and took lots of pictures. I find it hard to post more than a couple on this blog so here is one of the boat.
Here is a picture of the crew

Costa Rica 07/18/2011

I can't believe it has been such a long time since I have added anything to my blog, but today that is all going to change. I have a ton of pictures to share.
John went out fishing with a new group of guys and took some great pictures of a rooster fish they caught. Really beautiful pictures.

thoughts

Sunday morning,it is so quite with John gone on his fishing trip. I hope he is having a good time. His phone doesn't work from Canada so communication will be sparse. There is a computer available but we are talking fishing or computer. I think fishing will win out.
I went shopping with my daughter yesterday. What a great day. I bought another new purse. Bright pink! Don't know what I was thinking but I do love it. Pink? Really?
I need to get off here and get ready for church.

Ah Summer

Finally the weather in Phoenix has gotten warmer. I love the heat so summer is great for me. Everyone else complains but not me!
I am feeling better after having a week of being out of sorts. Part of the problem of being my age, of well nothing to do but just keep doing.
I had a wonderful three day crop for the cure with my daughter and came home Mother's Day to having all our children over for take out chicken. My husband organized the whole thing and I just sat back and enjoyed the kids. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful expended family.
I hope to organize my craft room a little today. I have two new baskets and want to set them up with thank you card supplies and maybe another with Easter supplies. I unpacked from the three day and repacked for the three day Crop A Roo next week end. I have fallen in love with "the button farm" kits and have joined the kit of the month, waiting for my first kit to arrive. I ordered the "Vintage Beach" kit and will work on that while at the crop this week end. Cropping for three days with only my Creative Memories weekender and two totes (one for glues and one with supplies). I will let you know if I can do a three day with so few supplies. Last weekend I took my big roller back for Creative Memories, four totes, the weekender and three small organizers. I took way too much stuff.
Stop back soon and see what I have done with the craft room.

more about the new toy

To be honest I am addicted to Angry Birds. It is a puzzle game that makes me crazy, but I love it.
We have been catching up with our friends and getting things done around the house. John has been able to get away fishing and catching up with his friends, I have been able to have lunch with my group friends and finding out what they have been doing. Life is pretty sweet right now.
Richard has finally gotten a date to get the back surgery. April 6. Thank God he will be able to get around again. He and I both feel this is going to be the answer for the back problems he has suffered with for over a year.

New Toy

I bought the Motorola xoom when we got back from Costa Rica and is wonderful. I am loving the mobility of email and web sites. It even has a camera! It does everything but phone calls. The on face keyboard is large and easy to use too. Check theme out. Way cool.

Google map of our house in Costa Rica

I am going to try to put the link to our virtual house tour on this link. I hope it works.Just click on the link below or copy and paste into your browser.

http://homepage.mac.com/marketman2/Sites/gecr/coldwell/power/lower/index.html

Okay tried that and you will have to copy and paste. I don't know why but it is a cool virtual tour so give it a try.

No plans for the day. I was thrilled yesterday that John gave me a haircut. For some reason hair grows faster here. Must be all that natural food or something. At any rate my hair cut turned out wonderful. I don't think the hair dresser will have to fine tune it at all.
Have a great day and I will update a little later.

Motmot bird

This morning has been a bird watchers dream. I didn't get the camera out in time to get them all but these pictures of the Motmot bird are wonderful and the pictures don't do it justice. Just beautiful!

What a ship

We had this beautiful ship in our bay for just a day on Wednesday 2/16/11. It was beautiful before they put the sails up but when it left it was quite impressive under full sail. I just had to share it with all of you.

Fires

2/11/11 we had some fires burning south of town in the hills. I wanted to share the pictures so you could see how dry it is here in Playas Del Coco.

January Vacation in Costa Rica

Well this trip has been relatively problem free. We had some issues with the phone and Internet upon arrival but all those have been resolved and we have moved on to terraceing the front yard and adding a sprinkler system. Andreas has been a Godsend, he knows how to do everything we ask him and he does a fine job. I am including some pictures of the progess so far. Since this is the dry season here we will return in June or July to add plants.
